The Story

I spent years training people how to adopt and use complex technology products. Not just the technical side — the human side. How do you help someone who is skeptical, overwhelmed, or just too busy actually learn something new and use it well?The answer I kept coming back to: you meet people where they are, you make it relevant to their actual job, and you give them something real to practice with. Not slides. Not a quiz at the end. Real application.When I started working in compliance training, I saw the same problem everywhere. Organizations investing real money in training programs that were technically delivered but practically ignored. People completing courses they would forget by Thursday.

Karen Johnson founded Verge Innovation after years of experience in technology adoption, training design, and workforce development. She has built and delivered programs for organizations ranging from growing mid-market companies to regulated enterprises.
Her background is unusual for the compliance training space: she comes from the technology adoption side, not the audit side. That means she understands how people actually learn and what it takes to make training land.
Karen built Verge Innovation to be the firm she wished existed when she was looking for a training partner: boutique enough to care about your specific situation, experienced enough to actually solve it.
